Default Custom Autosound radio - how do you set the clock?

Hi all,

I believe I have a Custom Autosound radio, I can't seem to find a pic of it on the net but this is one that most resembles mine except the lower buttons under the display are numbered 1-6 for radio presets.

I can't seem to set the clock, I've tried holding down the Freq button but nothing flashes.

Any clues?

Setting The Time
The following procedure must be preformed with the radio ON.
1. With the unit on press and release the Time/Frequency Recall Button (5) so the time is . . displayed.
2. Press and hold in the Time/ Frequency Recall Button (5) for 5 seconds. The hour and
minutes should be blinking on the display. Release the button and rotate the Manual
Tuning Control (4) gently to the right, the Hour will advance. Rotating the Manual
Tuning Control (4) gently to the left, the Minutes will advance. You may have to
advance completely through the AM or PM hours to get the proper Hour.
4. When finished setting the time, do not touch the radio. The hours and the minutes will
. stop blinking, the clock will show on the display for 5 seconds, and then will revert . .
. back to the radio station display

Yep, I got that far and by flashing I meant blinking.

My radio only has a Freq. button and it switches from radio to time every time I press it so it definitely works.

The problem is I can hold it down till the cows come home and still no blinking.

If its like mine, with the radio on, press and hold the memo button, which would be in the lower right hand corner, while turning the tuning knob right to advance the hours and left to advance the minutes.

I'll give that a go tonight, does the time blink?

I've tried holding down all the buttons (with radio on) but nothing blinks.

Here's a shot of the radio, it's slightly different than the one I posted with the chrome and black reversed.

I had the same radio at one time, and I could not find out how to adjust the clock. I ended up replacing it with a new retro sound model... that had instructions.

Nope, nothing blinks. Just hold the memo button down and turn the tuning knob left or right and you should see the numbers advance.

Fixed!

Thanks so much, I did try holding the Freq button down and turning the knobs, I tried holding down all the buttons doing all sorts of combinations, I guess I missed that one.

Now, what model is it? I wouldn't mind looking up a user manual to learn if I can connect Ipods and such to it, I guess I have to buy a connection.

Also the previous owner hasn't wired up the balance right, how do you access the rear or remove the radio, through the glove box?

It's a model USA-1. You can download a manual here Installations

It does have an AUX in at the back of the radio, but I'm not sure what kind of connector you need for it. There is also an RCA jack for hooking up an amp and a connection for a power antenna.

As far as removing the radio, I was able to just reach up under the dash to get to it, but I guess it depends on your setup and what size your hands are. Good luck!

I've actually read that manual but they have a different way of setting the clock. Holding 'Freq' button with blinking display instead of holding 'Memo' button.

Something like this I'd say

Currently I'm using one of these which is pretty good but wears out the cassette motor, etc.

I'm thinking my A/C outlet may be in the way, with my Torana I have to remove the glove box and then remove one of the air ducts to remove the radio just wondering if anyone here has removed their radio.
