Interesting, but one would have thought that it would have been delivered to CS without quarter trim and emblems....

I've read up about John McComb (the original owner) and racing that car. He also had a 1967 coupe group II he got from Shelby. Last I knew (20 years ago) he still owned the 67 and was restoring it.

McCombs '67 was at Knottsberry Farm a couple of years ago. One of my
friends had it up for sale. I don't recall the exact details of how he got it.

All Group 2 and Group 1 cars had the quarter trim and emblems as a street car would.
The only thing suspicious about the car in the photo is the grill looks a little too
bright to me.
