Default Pitted rims?

I searched the forum and was unable to find any information on restoring a newer/older set of Torq Thrust D's.

The Grey/silver paint looks good, big issue is all the pitting in the Aluminum/steel area.
What material is the metal finish?
And how do i restore the metal finish?

Any links or tips on doing this would be great. Better spend a few hours on restoring and cleaning than buying a new set.

They are solid aluminum. If the machined part is rough, start with a stiff brush and Cameo Aluminum and Stainlees scouring powder. Then finish with Mother's Mag Wheel Polish

22GT - do you have any experience with real magnesium American Racing Wheels? I have a set that Dad bought over 40 years ago and they look that old....the center caps are faded and I can't find them either.
