Default my 67 Mustang coupe amps/sub/box build

So over the weekend I decided to play with the car some. I got a few parts for it for Christmas (new kick panels w/ spkr holes, knee pad, rear view mirror and mount) so I felt like working. Ive decided to run one 10" sub in a fiberglass box for bass. So anyways, ive never built a fiberglass box before so my skills arent that high with it....hopefully theyll get better as I go. On with the pics

got the bottom, back, and speaker ring set in place ready for felt

wrapped in felt and test fit. doesnt take up much space at all

first coat of resin

fully resined with fiberglass matt and resin on the inside

not the sub im running, just making sure it fits

As of now, i got it all covered in filler and sanded down. Still have to go back and touch up some pitted areas and apply some primer and see what else needs work.

As far as setup goes:
db Drive 6.5 coax up front
db Drive 6x9 coax in rear deck
db Drive A4 4100 4ch amp for mids/highs
db Drive A4 1000 amp for sub
db Drive K5 10" sub

Ill post up more as I go

Damn! That's pretty good. I'm stuck knowing how to build boxes out of MDF board. But fiberglass?? That's some talent. Definitely would like to see the ending of this project.

thanks! Im with you, MDF is all ive ever known. I "kinda" had a basic idea on how to go about it but I watched several videos on Youtube and then just went out there and started messing with it. Not sure how Im gonna do the amp rack yet, itll come to me. Oh and did I mention how much sanding this stuff sucks lol

I should have took more of the resin and fiberglass part. The pic outside and the 2 before bondo are covered in resin. I fiberglass matted the inside.

been awhile since Ive posted about this but finally got around to putting some paint on the box. Still gotta work on the amp rack. I hope to finish the stereo before the Autofair next month cause im gonna take the car up there. I got the box as smooth as I could and painted it Ford True Blue for now, just used spray paint and clear. Hope to get the box really slicked up and painted the color I decide on for the car.

just stuck it in the car along with the template board for the amp rack...I need to get to work lol

I think im gonna have to go with db Drive's mini amps, the 2 amps I wanted to run arent gonna fit how I wanted them to and keep the spare in the trunk. The smaller chassis amps will let me keep the spare and keep things symmetrical

Looking great. I plan to do something similar. Just wondering why you didn't use MDF on the piece covering the gas tank?

Not much to add. Equipment will be here Tuesday/Wednesday hopefully. Changed it up a bit, instead of doing a 4 channel and mono amp I decided to just go with a 5 channel amp for space purposes.

Started wrapping the panels in foam and vinyl, boy what a pain...
