I have an i6/3speed that runs like a top. Pretty soon im going to be pulling it, along with a working rear, to put in an 8.8, roller 5.0, t5 and efi.
Im almost pained to pull the original stuff though because it runs so darn well. Always starts up even after weeks or a month or two of sitting, and it shifts fine. BUT, i bought the car because it was literally a bone stock base of base model coupes, knowing I was going to rip it apart. I never expected it to be as solid as it is.
So what I would like to know is, what do good running 200ci and 3 speeds go for (its from a 68 so should be the stronger 3 speed), I cant imagine they are worth much and or there are many people looking to replace there i6 with ANOTHER i6, unless they are going concourse? Advice / opinions would be appreciated. (also have perfect 4 lug wheels and hubcaps with virtually no wear tires on em)

It has limited value, and limited demand. Not zero, but I suspect you'll be waiting a while to find the right person (which will likely have to be within driving distance) I have seen 6 cyl with trannys range from 400ish down to free. Even running- FREE! Awesome if you want one, sucks if you want to sell one. Bits and pieces of 6 cyl stuff will likely total up to more than the motor (ie starter, motor mounts, accel linkage, carb)
ya, its a shame, im almost upset to pull it since it runs to darn good. Only 122k on it. Trans shifts fine too. Well when its out, I hope someone comes by rather quickly, Don't want it taking up space!

why is it all the good deals on I6 are back east I would take it in a heartbeat, I have a 170 in it now.
You'd be surprised how cheap it is to palletize an engine and ship it coast to coast, especially if you use UShip or similar. Bet you it could be done for less than $250.
Yeah but have you seen the TV show? I wouldn't want "those" guys moving anything mustang related. I know its just a show- but I envision the engine strapped onto the back of a trailer somewhere, out in the rain, etc

Come on man, Hollywood hype. Do you really think there would be any viewers if it were the way things are really shipped? Just take the BJ auction, don't believe everything you see on TV. Or in this case the clunker on blocks is not worth the $80K the one on BJ just fetched.

Sure- The I6 sometimes needs to be replaced, and some folks LIKE the smooth-running, 25 mpg Mustang.
The 4-bolt wheels are in short supply, the shop near here sells them almost as fast as they can find them.
