I have seen videos on youtube of polishing stainless trim, even dent repairs.

Here is a start.

I used repos and they fit very well. I did notice they were thin and could dent easily, so I just made sure I was very careful. It was also nice that my bro was there to help. The extra hands helped a lot.

It was actually on an episode of Overhaulin' where they were reworking a car.

Naa, sorry. But you're basically raising the dent using a blunt punch without going too high. File with flat file, see more low spots, peck it from behind again. I found it helps to use a bench vise opened just a little less than the width of the trim so it can be supported from the edges. Cover vise with thick shop towels and peck away!

Mine fit nowhere as nice as yours does. I had at least a 1/2" gap at the top that tapered in about 2" before it was flush against the body.
