Got the bay degreased to get it ready for paint-noticed now without everything coated in grease that my engine mounts appeared to have a rubber coating on them and now most is worn off? I have never done this before, so with it looking like the rubber has worn off (the other side is worse if they are supposed to have a rubber coating) would these require replacement? Thanks tons for everyones help so far gettin close...

Might misunderstand what your asking but there not coated with rubber all over the upper/lower bracket. Sometimes they have excess rubber etc. on the when they make them. I'd take them off and inspect them or better yet replace.

Stick a big drift in one of the holes for leverage and rock it around to see if the elastomer (rubber) is still bonding both metal pieces completely together. If it's loose and separated from the steel, chuck it for a new one.
Hope this doesnt put me on the dumb boat either.. but do these motor mounts come from the factory with a rubber coating? I think thats what Johns original question was.. if not sorry for the wrong interpretation. Also if they do come with this rubber coating.. how would one know if they need to be replaced or not? I would figure that they would either be entirely coated in rubber or have no rubber at all? I get that if the mount is loose what so ever that you should buy new ones but if the mount feels solid and is just missing this rubber should it be taken out and replaced?

That is the 65 and earlier mount which that rubber is just excess from when the mount was made. I would also just switch a to 1966 and later mount because those 65 earlier mounts can separate under torque especially if they are old rubber.
hmmmm....not sure if its from the early 65 round of mounts, as i thought those had just a single anchor stud down through the middle-mine is a 66 coupe, although manf. early (April 6 of 66) and my anchor stud mounts horizontally through the body bracket.
Bartl-went out and tried to wiggle it around with a big 'ol screw driver in the open hole for leverage-seemed very tight w/no slop. But heck, these look cheap to replace, and easy too w/no motor on top of it now!-good idea to replace it now, or is this one of those mustang parts like the gas tank sending unit where if it's working its best to leave it in? Thanks tons for your help (again)!

Well, the mount is clean and not soaked with oil, not all rusty/crusty and LOOKS in good shape. If the rubber isn't all dried up and cracked then it's probably fine.
Bartl-thanks for the info-nope, didn't really look too goo'd up with junk even before i used the oil eater on there. the block of rubber under the mount doesn't look corroded either-wouldn't bother me to replace it, but it seems as soon as you jump to a repro. part it never seems to fit/work as good (EXCEPT for my roller perches from Opentracker!!)
OK, the mount you have is not the original. It's either a Ford Service Replacement, or an aftermarket copy. The safety ears on the sides are the clue. Ford introduced them as a safety item in 1970, and they became the service replacement for all earlier versions.
