I started bodywork the first week of September. Today was the culmination of about a year of sheetmetal work and 4 months of bodywork. Had a bit of a rough start on the first coat, but I was able to fix everything. I ended up with a little bit of dust in the paint (I expected a little in my garage spray booth). I have 2 very small runs in the clear and 2 dime sized spots on the hood to fix where I accidentally dribbled some clear out of the vent hole in the spray gun cup. Nothing a little bit of sanding and polishing can't fix. I ended up spraying 3 coats of base and 4 coats of clear. I'll see if it needs more clear after some cutting & buffing. The base coat laid out nice and flat, but I got some orange peel in the clear. I was pleased with how my bodywork came out - there were a few spots I was worried might show, but they ended up being barely noticeable or not noticeable at all.
Here's what I have to show for a long day's work in the garage:

Thanks for the compliments. I will be updating the sig pic as I go - going to leave it as is for a few more days as a "before & after" kind of thing.
I picked up most of the interior last week. I'm waiting on a call back for a price on some TMI Sport Seats in Emberglo & Parchment. All the major vendors seem to have to special order them.
I do have the headliner, windshield, back glass, gaskets, and sealer so I will at least be able to move forward a bit. I figure the next big steps (after polishing) are suspension, exterior trim, headliner & glass - dang that's a lot of big things. Not to mention the rest of the interior, drivetrain ... but at least it's all fun stuff now! (except for the buffing)

Very nice work, and very inspiring! You may have already mentioned it in another thread, but can you list what products you used? (Primer, sealer?, paint, clear) and what equipment you used (guns, compressor, setup, etc.). I'm trying to learn from other "do it yourselfers" who have been successful

My goal is early April. I've got orders to report to USS Mississippi (that's one of those long black things that purposely sinks) in May. I'm hoping to have it done before sea duty gets in the way. I'm hoping to have the exterior trim and suspension done by the end of January, interior & engine building in February, and drivetrain installed in March.
