Default Prob. somewhere .. could not find .. Gear question ...

Folks,

How can I find out what gears/ratio I have on my '68 Coupe (289/302) C4/2BBL auto.

There should be a tag on the rear end. Or you can jack up the rear wheels and mark the drive shaft, and then spin the rear wheel one rotation and count the turns on the drive shaft. Example on turn on the wheel and 3 1/2 turns on the drive shaft will be around a 3:50 ratio.

It will be on one of the bolts that hold the center section in the housing. Don't be suprised if it's long gone.

Hope it's still there but, IMO, the best way is to mark the driveshaft.
