Default Another "Heard from Randy?" Precision Products in San Antonio TX, thread ..

I hate to ask, but has anyone heard or received parts back from Randy Meyer (Stanger), Owner of Precision Products in San Antonio TX lately?

I sent some parts to be rebuilt in June. I got an email from him in August saying he was running behind but he hoped to finish them soon. That sounded great to me...

Since then I have not heard from him. I have sent multiple emails and called many times since with no response.

Just trying to find out if he is still in business and if not, I need to start planning a trip to San Antonio to try and retrieve my parts !

Thanks for any update...

I called him in June of last year. Said he was buried under work and couldn't take on my steering box. He was also sold out of his rebuild kits.

I think he's just swamped.

I received my last e mail from him in early Dec, 20012 which he responded to questions about a 16:1 steering box I have that needs rebuilding. I replied to that early Dec 2012 e mail and have not herd back. 2 weeks ago, I called the number he has posted on his web site, phone rang a few times, got voice mail, left 2 messages. Called again about a week ago, the phone did not ring ring at all, it went straight to voice mail.

I read great things about his services, and while not in a hurry to get my steering box rebuilt, doubt I will now be sending it to him after several post of others having communication and turn around time issues.

I hope he is well.

I agree with you. Doing great work is no excuse for poor customer service. Regardless of your work load you MUST respond to your customer’s emails or phone calls. No excuse for this, but it seems to be the typical business practice I have dealt with in Texas

I hope he is well, also. Assuming he is, there is NO excuse whatsoever to treat customers like that. No one is that swamped or busy that they cannot extend the courtesy of an email reply or returning a phone call to their customers. It's fine to decline to take on new work but to hold parts for months and months and deliberately neglect to communicate with the customer is unpardonable. If he can't handle it, he shouldn't be in business. This is just BS. Something smells here.

He's been like that for years. I went through this several years ago. He gets work done, but it's not timely. He will also communicate, but it could take weeks to get a hold of him. His work is great, but, I have no idea how he stays so busy treating customers like this. Your parts are safe. Keep after him. You'll hear from him eventually.

Get in touch with Chock... That is where I'm sending my steering box to get rebuilt.

I sent in a PS pump Nov-Dec 2011. Still haven't heard back. Ended up buying all the stuff from someone else instead of waiting to get my rebuilt parts back. I'm still waiting though!

I've considered it. It's about 12 miles from my house.

I tightened up my gearbox a little and greased it. I figured if it failed I would get a new flaming river box or a rack. So my interest in a rebuild died off.

I guess if there was enough interest I could try and swing by to see what's up.

Tell him he's getting bashed on line for his lousy customer service. Not sure he cares, though. Keeping people's property is theft. Maybe the owners should contact the police.

Why would you send parts to someone that does not return calls? Dan at CHOCKOSTANG does just as good of work and has great customer service. I would never use Randy.

+ like one million for Dan and Carol at Chocko. My steering box and valve, complete turnaround including mailing, one week. I had tried reaching Randy to inquire about his services after hearing great things about his work but didn't hear anything from him, then started seeing the "where are my parts" threads and went right to Dan.
