Hi I'm new to the forums but i have read a few posts.i was trying to figure out which color to go with me and my girlfriend are torn on colors.i have a 67 mustang fastback original color wimbledon white w/red interior.its not my fav color but not the worst...my gf thinks i should go black but of course keeping it up is a nightmare which she wont have to deal with,i will.would you give in and paint it black or stay factory with white? the only other color i would consider is nightmist blue (obviously i'd change the interior color)
Black is a beach. It will show every single flaw in the body and every spec of dust.
Nothing prettier than a shiny clean black car but who wants to spend all that time keeping it that way.
Nightmist Blue with Parchment interior would be amazing!
Welcome to the forum, Tyler.
PS... Until your girlfriend becomes your bride, make your own decisions on the car. ;-)
Lot of other great colors out there too... I love the fastbacks in the green (The real gone in 60 seconds). I personally like color on fastbacks.
That said... You could do a combo of the two... white exterior (maybe black stripes?)/ with a black interior, or white interior with black carpet and other black accents. If you're not staying original you can get creative, and don't have to stay with the ford off the lot options.

Welcome to VMF. Hopefully you both know a good paint job (not Earl Shieb) will be $6000 and up. For black the up is more up...the paint job involves stripping current finish and eliminating defects. Any needed body work, rust repair is in addition.
Now days a cheap drive it thru job is $2000.
Enjoy the hobby,
Slim

thanks for the replies glad to be welcomed and yep slim i plan on going the quality route no cheap paint job on this fastback.i guess it will come down to black or blue i must admit i like what saligli is doing with his.
Definitely Wimbledon White. You get the distinction of having the color match the tags. When you finally get to a judged show, this could be the determining quality.
Wimbledon when it's done properly can absolutely glow.
There's a reason it was so popular back in the day. Nowadays, like Lime Gold, it's practically on the endangered species list. I thought hard about changing the color on mine, I'm glad I didn't.
