Which SEM paint did you use ? I checked out the SEM website and there are many different types.
I didn't know they had different kinds. My local auto body paint shop had them in stock. It's made for upholstery stuff. I'll take a picture of the can later and post it.

I used aerosol paint remover on my textured metal followed by a brass wire wheel to remove anything left. Wiped it down with wax & grease remover, sprayed with Picklex20 as an etch and corrosion inhibitor and sprayed with one medium coat of Rustoleum Camo Tan, which is a lacquer. I could have had a pint of lacquer primer mixed up and used my gun, but it was just as easy (and cheaper) to use this stuff. Color coat 2 light coats of lacquer. Enamels and urethanes are too thick and affect the textured grain too much for my taste, plus the lacquers dry harder and are more resistant to gas & oil. Yes, SEM has good products. I get mine from TCP Global.
NPD sells a pretty complete range of interior colors in a high quality rattle can in SEM and lacquer (not sure what the difference is other than SEM is "newer" techno-paint). About $10 a can.
The Ivy Gold colors I used for a '68 was spot on to the old color in protected areas.
As your sig note a '68, for the doors, strip completely and use semi-gloss black (ight coat) then rattle can 3-4 light coats of the NPD Charcoal Grey Metallic from about 12" away, lightly dusting the surface. The paint will likely feel rough at first, let it dry and rub down with a soft rag and it wil come up nice and look factory. Do not spray the CGM "wet" or heavy as it can easily run, and the color goes blacker the heavier a coat you apply....
