2. Because I joined the local Mustang club briefly but most of the members actually own newer Mustangs so I can't relate.

Hey Vince, you have the right Mustang and the right forum!
In the 70s I was very active (on the board) of the Early Ford V8 club. Owned a 37 Ford coupe, 56 Ford Sunliner (vert) and 70 Torino GT vert. Looked for a 67 or 68 Mustang convertible for a sporty drive to work car.
Found my 68 in 77, it's been a keeper for 35 years! Dropped out of the Early Ford club and decided (again) that Mustangs are my thing!
Can we see a pic or two of your 68?
Slim

Tell me about it! I joined the local Mustang club, went to two of their cruise nights, and quickly realized 80% of the cars were late model...
This site saved me sooooooo much time while restoring my '65 (thank God for the search feature). One of the early helps I remember was learning about the "hidden button" on the back of the headlight switch (spent 30 minutes trying to get that thing out, then a 5 minute search here and presto).

Originally to talk with like minded people, then to help as the younger drivers came in, and share as I experimented. Now, I'm trying to get re-enthused....
I post to ask many, many questions!
Seriously, this forum has allowed me to fix/replace things on my cars that I may have otherwise sent to the local garage. This forum is like the guy who hands you tools and drinks beer while you're under your car turning wrenches and getting grimy. Though it seems like "that guy" isn't doing much, the support is invaluable!
because when you need help nobody says "SEARCH".....
everybody is very respectful.... unlike most forums
i have no complaints so i could go on forever, but those are the main reasons i stay.
Maybe if you had actually "Searched",...you'd be able to come up with some other complaints
I know what you mean, many boards almost attack you for have the nerve of wanting possible fresh info on a subject vs somethng that may be years old.

Part of why I posted this. IMO forum implies discussion. Some suggest that a forum should in effect be like Wikipedia. Compile the answers, advice, how toos and just reply automatically to people...go here for the answer! i.e. research the damn thing!
Can't deny it I'm over the hill. An old fart with gray hair most has fallen out and creaky bones! With many things going virtual what's wrong with discussing something that may have been discussed 5 years ago?
Geese! If the subject of Sunday dinner comes up my wife and I don't click on what we did in the past...it's radical we talk about it!
