That should have been my first clue, because he wouldn't let me come and look during the auction, so my mistake there. Thanks for your comments. My biggest thing about getting on the forum was to just inform everyone else out there.
With that much money on the line and he wouldn't let you inspect the cars in person. Hells yeah that should of red flagged the deal!
Welll..thanks for joining our forum and informing us of what happened. I would bet that even the barn story was untrue. They may have been placed in there justfor the hype of being a rare find to drive up the price. One thing that doesn't add up to me is if you bought it through e-bay I thought E-bay handles all the money transferring, doesn't it?

Letting everyone know is a stand up thing to do. Myself, I would have needed many more pictures from all angles before being bothered to get that heavily involved financially.

It's pretty much up to the seller how payment is handled. Usually a security deposit is required within 24 hours of the end of the auction or something similar. I bought a car a few years ago on ebay, drove 6 hours to pick up the car, paid with a money order and drove it home.
I bought mine off ebay... from arkansas to colorado... And while I am happy with the car today, if I had known all of the issues up front, I probably would not have bought the car. My mistake for not going to see the car before I paid for it... I had it trucked up to me, first I saw it was when it rolled off the back of the trailer. Lesson learned for sure...it at least gave me something to work on and now I am glad its running great and no issues **knock on wood**.

You can tell in the original ad where he intentionally didn't take a pic of that left quarter damage, you can see it's damaged, but not near the extent of it. But on the other hand, he only wants $17 for it.
Will the real slim shady please stand up.

The guy is obviously nuts.

LOL, I will give him $17 for it. He is obviously a shining beacon to the public education system by...
1. Not proof reading an ad. ($17 yeah right )
2. "waist" my time.... really? Maybe he is overweight and just self concious about it.Come on man it is waste not "waist" most 2nd graders can spell better than that.
Since the guy that came up from New Mexico ( barn find bid winner)said they hauled some of the cars from another location on trailers, I suspect this guy posting this ad is the real owner and still trying to push his wrecked junkyard car on someone else. If he meant to post $17k instead of $17 the guy is off his rocker.
When you look at the pictures I see rust in every one of them... rust free car... this guy is blind as well as living in a fantasy world (and dishonest) That car would take every bit of $25-$35 k to turn into ANYTHING worth having even if you did all the work yourself. This is just another exmample of what these car restoration shows and crazy priced Barrett Jackson auctions do to people. They think every basket case P.O.S. is worth $250,000.
