Default Need dimension between UCA mounting holes

Hi guys,
67 390 convertible
I've searched in vain for the dimension between the shock towers, specifically at the upper control arm mounting holes, i.e. through the engine bay (either inside to inside or outside to outside is fine). I believe the front and rear holes are meant to be the same dimension across the engine bay. One shock tower is tweaked on my car at the UCA mounting point and I need to understand how badly.

I have the factory manual but this information isn't given in the chassis measurements views. Thanks so much for any help, I'm sorta stuck here.

Hard to answer that one, Shock tower holes center to center looks to be 37 1/8 inch, Front and back look the same. Cant measure any thing more.

Too easy. Measure from the lower arm pivot to the holes. Then compare.

Ok, I've measured the difference various ways from each UCA mounting point across to the other side of the car and, depending on the measurement points, it's telling me that the rear UCA bolt hole is pushed in towards the engine compartment by between 1/4" and 3/8".

Am I nuts to go to the effort of getting this 1/4" - 3/8" issue fixed by a body shop or would you just say shim the UCA out with washers and/or compensate through alignment adjustments?

Oh, I was able to get the original photo that clued me in that there was an issue, look at the front wheel in it's wheel well... always looked too far back to me, then when I compared it with the driver side it was confirmed.

Quick followup in case it's helpful to anyone else, the guys at "The Mustang Shop" in Auburn Washington (yes I'm in Michigan, did some cold calling) generously offered to measure between the UCA mounting holes on a car in their shop with no engine. Their number is 27 3/8" which matches the front hole measurement exactly on my car. The rear hole measurement is 27" on my car, so one more data point suggesting I'm squished by 3/8" at the rear UCA hole.

...and one more data point, the guys at the GN Mustang Barn checked out one of their original 67s for me saying the front measures 27 3/8" and the rear 27 1/2".

You are not nuts. You have a nice car that you enjoy. I had a car with a similar issue and it seemed to have a mind of its own sometimes, depending on the road surface. You also do not want to cut corners on safety issues, both for current safety and future liability. Look at it as an investment into your classic.
