Did upi guys using the sound deaden material add a heat supressing material on your firewall or floor boards of just apply the peel and stick products and rely on them to do that job as well.It seems as i search the P&S products do not seem to offer a lot in the heat reduction catagory and are used mostly as a sound dampener.

I added it primarily for sound dampening. Any insulating value is just a bonus.

I used B-Quiet Extreme, B-Quiet sound deadening materials - B-Quiet Extreme for about $100 bucks I got enough to do the whole car. And yes I put it over Por-15. It sticks like crazy.

Well guys I finally got off the fence on this subject and will be coating the interior with POR 15 and then when that cures well I will be applying the FAt MAT MEGA MAT to the floor board , floor and wherever i can get it.I spoke with the owner and went with this one which is a Butyl based product and 70 mils thick. I asked a lot of questions about the product and they were very nice to deal with and did not slam other products and had a lot of knowledge about their product.Paid for it over the phone and it will ship today and i will have it in two days.If the product is 1/2 as good as the customer service i will be more than happy.
I will try and post up how i like it later in the year when I have installed it and driven the vehicle.

After a long search I also used Fat Mat Mega. It was the the thickest butyl for the price. I used Second Skin Spectrum liquid deadener on the firewall too. Then I made some liquid deadener with Henry's 287 elastometric roof paint and ceramic microballs. I thought using the elastometric instead of exterior latex would be better but it doesn't get real hard. It worked fine in my new quarter panels. I brushed in three thick coats and used an air gun to recreate the factory look. Then I sprayed a fourth coat. I also brushed two coats in my wheel wells but here it needs to be harder. I then got some Behr's exterior latex (tinted dark gray) and mixed it with the microballs. Mix ratio was approximately one gallon paint to 3/4 gallon microballs. This should get hard like Spectrum. I use a fan and heater to dry because my garage is 55 degrees and let it sit a week between coats. Tonight I will spray the front and rear wheel wells.
