So I finally bought my project vehicle. Unlike what my signature says, it turns out that I got a 69 Mach 1. While not my "dream" car, it is a close second and it is the wife's favorite years so it was an easier sell.
A few pictures are attached. I will be posting more once I get the thing home and really rip into it.
more to come...

Maybe its just me, but just seeing that bugger coming to a good home makes me excited that it was saved and wonder what it will look like in a few years time....
At least someone turned it loose to be resurrected and didn't hang on to it forever with that bs line "I'm gonna restore it some day!" like this poor '69...

Ouch! That is a pretty rough vehicle. I can see the Craigslist add now, "needs floorboards, minor body rust."

OMG! how did they even get that on the flat bed? I didn't think they made spatulas that big.

Three years of work for three days of perfection. This pony WILL get back out on the road and it WILL reliably take me where I want to go... and it will always, always keep me safe.
And what is your plan as far as the direction of this build? Stock, mild, or wild?
I guess you could say that the plan is to make it a "mild reliable resto-mod" with a big emphasis on comfortable and reliable driving. I really want to build something that looks clean and mostly original, but is reliable and fun to drive. It won't be close to concours, nor will it end life with a late model EFI engine.

I too am recently "Back in the Game". Got my first '65 FB when I turned 16. Drove it through high school and a few years afterwards. Started disassembly...then came the kids. 23 years later, Still have it but decided to tackle a slightly smaller project and picked up '65 coupe right before this past Thanksgiving. Excited about being back in the mix and back on this forum. Will post some pics when I get a chance.
