Default Strange DSO code

What does 'F' in the DSO code box on the chassis plate mean?

I thought they were all supposed to be numerical

From my findings for a 1st gen Mustang, there is no "F" DSO. Are you sure your not looking at the paint code or possibly the date code? Or maybe even the axle or trans code....Just my thoughts.

But, again, need to know the year and preferably a pic.

Cannot find a F-code DSO in any of my books. Sure that's the original plate and someone didn't mess up if or when they had another made. Just asking--

It's the plate off a car i am looking to buy. The guy i am buying it from insists it is all original so i am assuming that this is the original plate. I am new to the world of mustang so looking to learn.

Here is a photo of the vin stamping...which adds to my confusion - the K is obliterated. Again I have not seen the car in the flesh, only these photos.

as i said looking to learn, could there be an A or C code mustang out there with the exact same vin as a k code, just with the K replaced by an A or a C?

I think someone is trying to pull a fast one on you and I don't think it's a fast mustang. Why would only the K in the vin on the fender apron be messed up where you can't make it out. The door tag say's it's a K code which I doubt and I'll bet the tag is a replacement with the DSO screwed up. Ask him if he will loosen up the bolts on the passenger fender to show the hidden vin's under it so you can verify the vin showing on the driver's side.

Cant find anything ion that DSO code. Plate does look like original. maybe a mistake in stamping at factory.

Ah more info. It is a scam. You can only guess that he had that made. It is not a coincidence that only the K is has been messed with
