Pic request? 1967 Fastback interior quarter panel to doorjamb/pinchweld
I see on a 65-66, there should be some chrome trim or some such, but that doesn't exist for the 67, correct? I can only assume the windlace doesn't go over the fiberglass, as that would be a tight (cracking) fit.. Anyone have a pic? Or a good description?
And secondly, the carpet should go under that part right? Up against the sill, and underneath the fiberglass quarter panel? Just finding it a tight squeeze and don't want to break the piece!
Well, based on how mine came apart, you're on the right track - windlace on the pinch-weld, carpet laid down up against the door sill, and then the fiberglass quarter is installed up against the windlace (not under) and over the carpet right at the door sill. The aluminum sill plate wraps over the carpet as well. Pictures help here. The photo with the mouse nest is meant to show what it looked like just after i'd removed the fiberglass quarter. (funny story - under the mouse nest was a box of condoms from the late 20th century...bizarre...). Good luck.

That pic was part of a fstbk fold down presentation by the late Sam Griffith, aka
sigtauenus. Sam did a lot or research on 65-8 fastback fold downs. It is a well prepared
presentation. Sam was in the Marines and worked his way to the rank of Major. He was killed by an enemy bullit when taking over another's spot. It is a year this month.
RIP Major Griffith. You are surely missed.

I know what it means to serve, including the risks.
He'll be missed.
