No way! I just scored an early K-code fastback in that color. Now I have something to shoot for. Thanks for posting. Beautiful car. Here's mine...the "before" picture.

Fantastic looking Fastback! I love it.

The original color of my 65 was twilight turquoise, pretty color. Mine has been caspian blue since high school in the 90's. Part of me wants to see it turquoise again.

I'd probably just put the factory disc brakes on the front and leave it drum in the rear. I'd definitely want to retain the wheels that are on it.

Beautiful car---I may be wrong but the color looks very close to 69 F-code Gulf Stream Aqua to me. I have a gallon in my garage i was going to paint my car then change my mind. Now kinda wish i would of stayed with that color. Very nice.

Roogie - what size are the rims and tires on your Dad's car? I'm looking at a set of similar wheels and don't know whether to go 14x6 or 15x7.

Thanks,
Rich

I think going to power brakes will make a bigger difference in feel than going to manual discs which may give no additional difference in feel but might be beneficial if you're tracking the car and/or doing repeated 60-0s for some reason. I think people forget the main appeal of disc and/or larger brakes is more repeatable stopping rather than simply more stopping power. Will 13" brakes and six piston calipers with pads that have immense surface area bring your car to a stop faster than 1965 Mustang drums? Certainly. Will the puny disc brakes of the era bring your car to a stop faster than drum brakes? Maybe. Will they do it faster the 3rd or 4th time in a row? Absolutely.

I daily drive a Toyota Camry. I actually like my Mustang because the driving experience is more spartan, four wheel manual drums being part of that.
