The widest tire you'd really want on a 8" wide wheel is a 255. Anything more than that and the tread will start bulging over.

I run 255/40/17 NT05's on my 17x8 coy wheels.

Well ,,, Funny I should ask. It's a jeep thing apparently. Saw these at work today

2014 Jeep compass ,not a terrible looking wheel and I suppose with a large enough adapter could be made to work

Example
2014 Jeep Compass aluminum-alloy-17x65-wheel-rim-2380
