Default wants 17x8 f 17x9 r on 66... what needs to be done

i have a 66 coupe with no suspension up front or rear.. the restomods almost done except for the suspension and brakes. im planning on buying the rmp coilover front suspension from mustangs plus p#12008
and i have just ordered the rear suspension from heidts (bolt-in rear 4-link kit w/coilovers) and i have a 9in diff from a 63 thunderbird i believe... i wanna know what i have to do to squeeze 17x9 5 in bs in rears... and i know the 17x8 4.75 bs will fit in the front... i just want to kno if i have to tubb the rears or will the heidts coilover kit allow me to not have to do anymore cutting? and wut size would i have to cut the diff too? i want the 17x9 5bs due to the agressive look of the larger lip... btw the car has already been painted.. planning on buying disc brakes all around. any help would be great

already done it-- you dont need to "tub" it that much..

personally i would choose TCP rear 4 link over that but thats personal opinion. i made something similar to theirs..

RMP makes some nice stuff but the chrome looks outdated to me..i used TCP fronts but i would seriously consider SorTrack..

and i think your 63 diff will be too big but that i am not sure on.. i thought the narrowest 9" was 57 ford. then granada and lincoln marseille the same?) in the 90s. i didnt think anything else was that narrow to fit a 66.. if it works -great - if not get a 8.8 from a fox and convert to 5 lug.. under 600hp i think the 8.8 is a better diff- more efficient and cheaper

i got the heidts because of the low cost.. i plan on cutting the diff to fit. hat did you do to make the 9s fit? cut inner fender lip;s off and massage the metal out with heat and hammer? what was your offset? any piks?

W#e do the Heidt's 4 link all the time, but it isn't a bolt on. You have to weld the brackets on the housing. Rod and Custom makes a complete bolt on.

Have 17 x 7 front and 17 9 1/2 rear on my sons 65, had to add myer racing flares to do it. With 285's on the rear it looks great and can't realy tell that it is flared. Also running a versailes rear end, and made a custom double wishbone front suspension , front tires never hit and corners great. If you are looking for a 9 inch disc rear end I am going to see mine if you are interested.

those are just your cheapo eleanor clones. x8 fronts with 245 and 9 rears with 275s tires and wheels were $1100 at the portland swap meet brand new from the coys dealer WITH tires - lugnuts and spinners.. they had like 8 different sets to choose from-- theyre the coys dealer in utah - they go to portland every year with a semi load

i havent installed the spinners yet not sure if i like that look more yet..

but i saw some forgeline gz3 and i want to see what they will look like on my car now

or the GA3 but with the same color as i have now

found some on a mustang

i was able to squeeze 18x8.5 5+mm offset front and 18x9.5 0offset rears.. 245.35 f and 265 45 r with light massaging of the inner wheelwells in back with stock suspension... fits and now no rubbing, but once its lowered itll def rub everywhere... i had the rear heidts suspension on hold and decided to cancel my order until i could figure out the complete set up i wanna go for in the rear....

just threw those 18s on for ****s n giggles cuz i took em off my 350z haha...
