hi i keep seeing a set of older tork thrust type of wheels. their not exactly what i want but the price is right, they come with tires. havnt talked to the guy but they look to be 6" or so. i know he says their 14" rims. how wide of a tire can you put on an older 6" rim? i have hurricane type on now & dont like em. what i want is a set of the 15" black american racing or crager type of "wagon wheels" also if know anything about these rims please chime in. thanx.
thanx 4 the reply. im also looking into getting steelie type of wheels. im looking around online and cant find pictures of the old steel wheels with the smaller dog dish style of hubcap. i like the look of the old plymouths with painted steel wheels n small hubcap. but im also wondering if by the time i buy the wheels track down the caps and all that, i coulda just bought the wheels i really want. which are only like 80$. any pics out there of the set up im looking for? thanx
I have 17x7 inch rims on my 67 coupe, and 235 is perfect for those, but I agree with cmefly that 225 is the limit for 6". Wide tires make a huge difference in looks and performance, so I definitely recommend going as wide as you can, within the limit of your rims of course.
