Should I be worried about overheating?

Hello everyone,

Would like your thoughts/advice on the following scenario...

The patient: 1966 convertible, freshly rebuilt 289 engine (bored to +40), C4 transmission, 6-blade fan, shroud, 3 column radiator (not aluminum), P/S, A/C.

The symptoms: am worried that its operating temps are high.

The attached photos show temps at various locations: engine block, top of radiator (2), and lower radiator hose. Iím pretty sure that thereís a 180-degree thermostat installed. We did NOT replace the water pump. Readings are after a 30-minute drive with heater on, no AC running.

Are these conditions abnormal? Should I be worried about damage to the engine under these conditions?

Many thanks in advance,
Bob
