It was suggested to me by a bright young lad, that I find myself an 8-inch carrier to put in my existing rearend for now so I can drive my car around while I wait for the new 9-inch. Brilliant! Anybody got an old 8-inch carrier that they want to get rid of? I'm willing to pay cash, if necessary, but not much, this carrier will have a short life expectancy ::. It doesn't matter if it's an open or traction lock, I don't care what gear ratio it has, it just has to be in workable condition.

So what say you, Chicago VMFers, anybody got something I can use?

You may want to get a couple if it's going to be a few weeks before the nine inch arrives... ::

Very funny :: :: I promise I will take it easy, plus I have traction bars that I will install; hopefully that will at least reduce wheel hop, should the tires accidentally break loose.

I have one with a 2.80 open, I plan to put a posi unit and change the gears someday. You can use it and give it back whenever, It's been stored indoors as long as I've had it. Let me know. I may make it to the 7/31 meeting if you're going I can bring it.

Thanks for the offer, Kevin. Another local VMFer, sgtjnior, has already volunteered to give me his old carrier, in exchange for helping him swap out the old an put in the new. We already have set this up for next Thurs evening at his house. Besides, if you gave me your reared, I can't promise you that it would come back in working order.

I checked out your web site and what you did to your last one. I only needed the case back in one piece, but it doesn't look like you could manage that. Be gentle with the new 8".
