Hello all.

The CVMC Spring Cruise to Volo is now officially set!

It will be Sunday May 20, 2007.
We will meet at 12:00 noon at Ned Brown Forst Preserve / Busse Woods.

We will then cruise together as a group to the Volo Auto Museum, in Volo, IL. (http://www.volocars.com)

Our meeting place will be in the Forest Preserve near the entrace off of Golf Road
just east of I-290/53. (See picnic area 29 on This Map)

Enter at the park entrance from Golf Road, and then look for the first picnic area on the left.

At about 12:30 or so, we will leave to head to Volo.

We will go west on Golf Road (58) to Higgins Road (72).
We will follow Higgins north-west to Route 59.
We will follow Route 59 north to Route 120.
We will follow Route 120 west to the second intersection - Volo Village Road.
We will turn right on Volo Village Road, and then left on Fox Lake Road - to the museum entrance.

I have talked to the Group Reservation department at Volo, and they have invited us to park in the Collector Car Lot on the grounds while we are there.

If for some reason we find another group already in there, we will be given free parking together in the West Side Park - which is also reserved for groups.

If we are able to bring 15 people or more (should be no problem) , we will be given a group rate of $7.00 to enter the museum (usually $9.00)

There are lots of cool cars to look at - and many of them are for sale!
We can use their snack shop for a quick lunch, and then we will tour the museum as a group.
There are also lots of small shops and antique stores on the grounds for the SWMBO's to check out.

Bring the spouse! Bring the kids! It is a very family friendly place.

If for some reason the forest preserve is busy or closed to traffic for some major event (always possible) we can meet somewhere else nearby.
Call my cell phone at 630-373-3404 if this situation arises.

Hope to see you all there!

Sounds good, I think we will be able to make this. It has been a long time since I put any miles on the 69. Heck, we might even see old ember there!!
Looking forward to a fun day. We will be able to use our pass finally.

Jason, My name's Andy and I'm new to the forum. I'm definitely hooked. There's alot of good info here and it's nice to know there are others in the area. I live in Schaumburg and I have a 66 Coupe that needs alot of work. I sent you an email about getting on the email list but I didn't get a response. Would you like me to send it again? I'm going to try to be at Volo so I hope to meet you and some of the other Chicago guys there. If not maybe one of the other get togethers. Thanks

Hi Andy.

I do not remember seeing your name before.

My email spam blocker might have grabbed it without
me noticing.

Go ahead and email me your name, email address,
year/color/engine of your car, and your VMF
user name again and I will get the ball rolling!

Thanks,

-Zim

Hey, Zim.

I'm not very talkative in here, but I'm jazzed to finaly go to a meet in my neck of the woods. I'm probably one of the farest North. Anyway, I plan on going straght to Volo, since it's straght west from me. Maybe, bring family, but her scrapbooking may override the car, Maybe the old man. I've been trying to turn him on to Mustangs. Can't wait to see all the Stangs. Mine will be the Electric Blue one that looks hot till you get 5 ft away, if it's running then. See ya.

I am planning also to be there. If I get my black one back, the transmission will not shift. It is being towed today hopefully. Needless to say I am BUMMED.

I'm planning on being there unless it rains. My wipers aren't working now & I may not have a chance to look at them before then.

Note for next year: The Volo Shelby meet is usually the first weekend in June....
But anyway, I'll be at the Indiana SAAC "Spring Fling" in Nashville Indiana.

Zim,
I will be there with my new 67 GT ( I swear it this time). I even have my Mom and Dad getting their 64 1/2 vert ready to go as well. I just need to figure out to get to the meet site.

It's a little north of you! If you see a polar bear you went too far!

I really could use some good directions from the South pole down here.
