The weather is obviously going to change a lot of plans today.

I will watch the radar and if it looks like I can make it to Bourbonnais by 11am and stay dry - then I will do it.

I am now going to skip the meeting at Jewel at 8am though.

Paul and I met after it stopped raining and headed down.

Of course, we got caught in a downpour near I-80.

It was pretty much hit or miss all day. They did get a long spell of dry weather long enough for everyone to wander around and vote.

I think it rained at least 3 different times while we were there too - then, of course, I got caught in another bad downpour just 5 miles from home along 88.

My car is absolutely soaked sitting in the garage.

On the bright side, all 4 of us that were there
(Paul, Zim, Randy, and Merlyn) all won trophies, with Merlyn taking a 1st place.

At least we represented the club well!

A few pictures from today. I was surprised how many cars showed up, was a great show even though a bit wet.

I was not happy when I left though, did something realllllllly stupid, backed into the small tree behind us. I thought, what a MORON! The damage is not bad, (but to me it is ). The rear bumper "flattened" out a bit on the driver side and drove the corner of the bumper into the quarter panel, took a little paint off. Need a new bumper, and new paint on the scratch. I will finally see how good Hagerty Insurance will be!

Randy,

I missed the whole tree thing, glad that the damage is not worse.

The fine folks at Northern Mustang Corral were kind enough to load us up with their left over items from todays show and also provide us with lots of good advice on putting on a first class show. This was their 17th annual show and it is always one of my favorites each year. Many thanks to Belinda, Cliff, Terry and the rest of the club for their support.

Don't feel bad Randy, I pulled a dufus myself... since it was raining I didn't have the trailer ramp unfolded while waiting for it to let up. Backed off the trailer with it still folded up and broke my front license plate frame and put a small dent in the front valance.

All things considered not a bad show. I was surprised at the turnout with the weather the way it was. Couldn't believe their weren't any 65-66 fastbacks there...

I was in Wisconsin dells this weekend as well with my convertible. It was the first trip of a long length. No problems,I also got rained on Saturday. I have some wet carpet as well. It poured all day. I was home on Sunday by noon. Now I need to detail & give it a good cleaning. A few squeeks have also reared their ugly head from some suspension components as well. Had 1 day nice the drive up.

Merlyn,
Sorry to hear about your incident. I guess it was a good day for dufuses, if there is such a word .
I filed a claim with Hagerty today, so far they have been great! Told them how that tree came out of nowhere, definitely the trees fault

It ain't like me to say "I'll be there", and NOT show up. Even with a car trailer.

Man. I was watching the weather channel most of the early morning, and it looked like rain all day. And, around here, the streets didn't dry until noon.
So, I wasn't there, sorry.

yeah, but an open trailer isn't much better than driving in it. Looks I'm gonna miss ya at the Shelby-Boss reunion too, I decided to to the Momence AACA show I was already preregistered for. Make sure you fill me in on the reunion...

Haggerty is the best! They settled my claim and I got the check within days of faxing the estimate.

You would be surprised at how much a bumper and body work costs!

Gene,
Yep, I faxed my estimate yesterday to Hagerty, and yes I was VERY shocked how much the estimate was for.
