Howdy all.

As I was suspecting - the decision to go to Seattle has been made.

I have already been looking into airfare - and it looks like I may be going solo.

I would like to find out if anyone else has any interest in going, and if so, if they would like to split a rental car.

I suspect they will have a hotel picked out - and I personally would not ask anyone to split that with me - as I snore like a bear.

My plan would be to leave Thursday afternoon / evening on June 19 and return sometime mid day on Sunday the 22nd.

So - who is up for representing the Chicago guys in Seattle this year? Do you want to drive there? Do you want to fly there? Will you be bringing anyone? Please discuss here. Thanks!

Zim,

At first I didn't want to go...still don't have the board of director's approval yet!

I am thinking the same way you are at the moment.

I would LOVE to drive it and show those guys they can do the same to Des Moines if CF ever gets back them. and it'd be a pretty cool drive through the west.

On the other hand...2100 mile one way might be a bit much for the classic, so maybe trailer? Still a long drive and figure 2100 miles/16MPG X 3.00/gal = $393 for one way.

Finally, flying is obviously the way to do it easily, so I'll go in with you on a rental car once I get the go ahead. Sorry for sounding a bit iffy...just never planned on having to go to f'in Seattle for CF.

I'm really torn on driving...as it'd be quite an experience, but we can't keep up with Nick in his truck with 300 gallons of fuel on board.

We'd really enjoy you boy's coming out to join in!

In years past we've gone round and round on driving back there....But aside from gas costs and possiable break downs...it always came down to "time" issues. If you take a nice easy drive back and then home...it turns into a week and a half ordeal. If you bust your bottom getting there...then your pretty much shot for the weekend...and then the long drudge home again!

Just seemed a whole lot easier not to mention the stress factor to just fly in...party hard...fly home!

Beside's we need someone to man a "trunk bar"!

yeah I'm sure it's just my wild pipe dream at this point that I would drive it in any vehicle much less the classic. If I go at all it'll likely be flying

Can't tell how bad a few of us always wanted to bring a car or two back (share drive time etc.)
But it just didn't....pencil so to speak.

I'm sure there will be a spare seat or two open in one of our rides for ya!

I like Salmon-feed. Although Geoduck-feed is pretty catchy.

The name has been and will always be "Corn Feed" regardless of location. So say-ith the Bob.

I am pretty dissapointed by this change of location as I was planning on driving out this year now that my engine is reliable. I guess I dont see the fun of not taking my mustang to a mustang show. Oh well it looks I will be going to Power Tour instead.

For clarity though..it's not really a car show. CornFeed is mostly about getting together with VMF people. I have made quite a few friends from all over the country going to previous Corn Feeds.
Sure the mustangs we have in common...but it never got in the way of the fun for those who didn't bring one.

I do agree that it's disappointing,as I too love to take my car, but it's really not fair that many others can't practically drive there either when it's in DesMoines. I still haven't given up the thoughts of taking it...but of course that's a lot more $$.

So drive it to Seattle. Just think of all the smiles and thumbs-up you'll get during the drive. Not to mention all the thumbs-up you'll get from us for actually driving there.
