I just purchased a 69 Torino Cobra 428 Cobra Jet Ram-Air Fastback. The car was originally a bench seat, column shift automatic and will be converted over to bucket seat, floor shift auto with a console. The motor is rebuilt and has brand new aluminum heads and intake manifold (it is not the origanl motor). Car has been soda blasted and repainted the original color - Royal Maroon with black interior. Not my first choice of colors, but it should look very nice. The car is from Florida and is in beautiful condition. Looks to be all original panels and floors. Super straight and clean.

* * * Some Assembly Required - the car is completely disasembled, and I mean completely! I brought the first load of parts home today in the back of my 4Runner. Neighbor Doug will be transporting the car, motor and trans for me shortly. It is currently sitting in Homer Glen which is a quick ride down the new 355 extention. The car has been apart for more than three years and there are pieces in at least four different locations. I just hope they can find everything. There are lots of new and replacement parts and both bumpers have been rechromed. Should be a fun project and I hope I take the time to do it right.

I want to thank Darrell for pointing me towards this car. My wife my not be real happy with him, but I am.

Congrats Paul!

I'll bet if Dave - formerly of SLS - is reading this, he may have some advice for you!

Thanks for the help with the Ranchero yesterday too.

Rod - this one was 16 miles from home. What the hell was I thinking about when I wanted to go to VA?

Well, it's a no-brainer choice of a 68' with a 390, or a 69' with a Cobra Jet....

I've looked up, and watched a 69 CJ car on Ebay with the formal hardtop back a couple of years ago. Still wish I would have bought it.
