Don't know what area you're in but saw a 390 for sale in Atlanta area Craigslist.

I understand you might want a "correct" engine but I'm curious.
Except for the numbers, intake and maybe some guts, what's the diff between them and a 390 from a truck of the early-mid 70's? I ask because I know where there are a few and always wondered about what could be done with them.

I think you could sneak in a 428 crank and rods or custom set in there, do some porting and cam work and have a 390 that could look sleepy bone stock outside but would embarrass some high-end late models if you wanted...
Daddy said there's no replacement for DISPLACEMENT.

Are you looking for a rebuildable core or a complete engine?

68 302-4V w/1.84",1.54" ported , Comp XE268H , 2200 rpm Hughes converter, 3.25 9" w/10x2.5" shoes , MSD box/distrib , RPM intake , 670 Holley , cross flow aluminum radiator , Granada discs......
