History Purchased from a guy at work who got it from "the original owner". The car came with the original sales receipts, warranty card, delivery stuff and even pictures of the original owner with car at the dealership with the sales people. But unfortunately no window sticker or owner's manual. I looked for build sheets but no joy.

So far all the big numbers match (engine, trans, buck tag, etc.) and are date code correct down to the distributor. Need correct radiator and alternator to bring it closer to concourse level but probably won't enter into that cut throat competition, especially since it is a plain-jane low option basic convertible and because I like the sound of dual exhausts.

A very nice driver/show car that always turns heads and gets thumbs up wherever it goes.
Exterior

Recent high quality paint, candy apple red. Original 1968 Texas License Plates. Hood has no turn signals because of the labor strike.

Interior

Original (so I was told). Too nice to be. Original dash beginning to show its age.

AM-only. Just like Ford built it.

289 built during the labor strike, numbers matching, assembly date correct. Has some weird things that Bob Mannel (Small Block Ford author) has verified were correct. Expect it to be one of the 302 blocks that were used to build the 289 during the strike.

New clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, pilot bearing for the original 3-speed tranny. Needs new shifter buttons though.

Suspension
Complete rebuild.

Wheel and Tire

Original painted steelies with white walls, now in storage. Replaced with chrome styled steel wheels from 67 down and red center caps (didn't like the blue with the candy apple red).

Still has the original E70-14 Wide Oval 4-ply spare tire!
