Another goofy ? Do all oversize pistons have the size marked on them?

Got an engine that I know is rebuilt. It has a rebuilt tag on it.
I am not seeing any numbers on the piston tops yet. I may need to do some cleaning. Isn't that where the oversize is marked, or am I just plain wrong? Could a company that does rebuilds such as Jasper (not saying they did this engine, but it was done by a bigger company I believe, not a neighborhood shop) get pistons without markings?
Thanks,
Russ

I'll have to double check, but I think the TRW pistons I bought for my Pontiac 400 build do not have the overbore marked on them, but the ones I'm taking out do have it. Engine was never fired, but sat for 10+ years and they pistons they used suck.

I have a 408 stroker kit that is 30 over and they're no markings on the pistons for size. The only markings on the pistons is just and arrow.

My TRW 455 pistons are marked with the over bore size.

Mass produced replacement cast pistons "usually" have the oversize stamped on them. Others have a part number on them that can be related to a bore size. Aftermarket forged pistons usually have a part number as well.

Thanks. I will have to give cleaning the top of one a shot. I will also see if my cheap calipers will go that accurate.

I checked my new TRW forged pistons... laser etched 0.040 right there in plain sight, not sure why I didn't remember seeing it before.

Not since they started getting fat shamed by standard bore pistons.
