Got an extra 16k laying around?

https://www.roxoroffroad.com/build

You can have a base model. Add the optional mattracks if you're feeling frisky...it will only double the price.

Now I'm confused. The site shows that title and registration are required. I saw a commercial on these on TV just yesterday, and it stated that these were "off-road only." They're not street-legal and can't even be towed on the highway. they have to be trailered.

If you don't register it, you can only drive it on PRIVATE off-road areas.

If you want to drive it on PUBLIC off-road areas, you need to register it as an off-road vehicle.

Some people have contemplated putting an old Jeep body on the frame. Jeep bodies can be had relatively cheap. Then you could register it and drive it on the road.

What benefit does this offer over a Jeep, though? Why go through all that when a street legal Jeep can be had for a few grand?

Arent they getting sued by Jeep?

My dream Jeep is a CJ3B body on a CJ5 frame with V8 power.

That can be done for way less than 16k.

Actually, Mahindra has been building Jeeps for a LONG time, longer than Chrysler has. They obtained licensing from Willys back in the 40s. Their tractors are very heavy duty, tough machines, probably the best built small to midsize tractor today. NONE of the smaller tractors are built in the USA now.

They do make good tractors. My FIL had one for several years before he passed.

Think of these in the same category as a Razor. They are NOT street legal as sold (they are governed to 45 mph), but you can buy "street legal kits" for them, but I believe they still have the same limitations golf carts, mopeds, and other small conversion vehicles have, in most states is 35-45mph and under roads. I wouldn't want one on the interstate here (people are nuts). They're "cheap" because they don't have to pass any safety or crash test standards.

After I get my garage built and paid off, I'll have a little spending money, I've kicked around the idea of buying one and putting a street legal kit on it. I've always wanted a side by side or razor, but this seems way cooler.

I've watched some vidoes on them, if you have MOTORTREND network online, dirt eveyday has done some daily "extras" on them. They're pretty tough and off road ready right out of the box.

Waste of money IMHO... For 16K or much less you could have and buy a nice original...and not a "WANNABE" fake...
