Aloha!

Just got back from a week vaca in Hawaii. I had the good fortune of a wife and daughters that allowed me to rent a 2019 Mustang GT 'vert!! Beautiful car, sounded phenomenal, drove like a dream. It has standard, street, track, race, and drag strip modes, and yes- I tried them all!! LOL. 2 full days of Hawaiian coastal cruising in it- hated to give it back! For the remaining 3 days we rented a new Jeep Wrangler 4 door- popped the tops off and toured around the island. There's a green sand beach, apparently 1 of 2 in the world, accessible only by either a 3 mile hike through nasty rock, sand, and dirt trails; paying the locals $20 to haul you in on a 4 wheeler; or by a 4x4 Jeep Wrangler The trails back were killer, had the Jeep on 3 wheels,
We spotted 2 '66 Mustangs while there- a red coupe during the 4th of July parade in Hilo, and 1 under a tarp in a nearby town. Anyone want to claim them? lol.

Aren't you supposed to go to Hawaii in February when there's 3' of snow on the ground in Iowa?

Yes- absolutely correct, but it was a spring break/graduation gift for Shelby, so we had to wait until now (in case she didn't actually graduate, right?) lol!

I've got a few, but most were taken by the girls on their cameras/phones. The airport, volcano, Rainbow Falls, a sea turtle, the green sand beach etc. One of the coolest things were the Banyon trees- they were absolutely huge!! Look close in the pic- my girls are up top on the hill and the tree looks big, but look close- there's a lady down by the base of the tree to give you perspective! They were all basically linked, and even grew into each other high up in the canopy- hard to tell which was which. The hotel we stayed at was on Banyon Drive, and the trees on each side were planted by famous people back in the early 30's. The one directly in front was by Babe Ruth, back in 1933!

My wife & I went in Oct. '17 to the island of Hawaii. Georgeous place to visit. We stayed 2 nights in Kona, 2 nights in Hilo & last 2 nights at Volcano. Circled the island in our huge SUV, no Mustang 😞 -- did see several though. I enjoyed snorkeling with green sea turtles at black sand beach the most ! Dean
