Here in Lansing (a small suburb south of Chicago) in has long been rumoured that the mail delivery folks are the building code snitches. They get a "little something" from the city.

A plank on the ground is a board, a plank on a deck is part of the deck. A tool would be something that is used to make a person walk along it.
I.e. walking the plank😂

Garage
Sanctuary

My shop is my sanctuary, it helps keep me somewhat sane(please, lets not get technical here). It's where I come to get away from life. It's small and cramped and as big as I could build without a variance but it's mine. It has wood stove for heat and fans in the summer. The roof only leaks a little when it rains really hard. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Oh, and it's also exactly 12 steps from my chair to the Beer Fridge, coincidence?
