Sanctuary Garage Status

This topic was recently posted BUT ! I suggest everyone declare their garage a "sanctuary". I live in a sanctuary city so therefore my garage, driveway and yard is a sanctuary and off limits to the gov. Also read this article because it mentions tools not normally found at a residence. Is a plank that someone is made to walk a tool ?

I don't know what the heck "declaring a garage a sanctuary" even means. Do you just walk out into your yard and shout it?

I live in Texas. Anything on my property is worth shooting someone over. No declaration necessary.

It's a joke.

Great, so in your sanctuary you are saying that you or your family and guests won't report on any other family member or guest. pfffffffftttt.

A plank on the ground is a board, a plank on a deck is part of the deck. A tool would be something that is used to make a person walk along it.

I hear you. But this is probably a little too political for here- but...... My garage is a sanctuary- protected by 2 dogs, and several black rifles. But we live on the east coast so much less of the Left leaning party that tends to come up with these sort of laws. Thankfully I am almost old enough that it won't matter what new morals (or lack thereof) they try to legislate. And no one tells me what I work on in the garage!! (well ok SWMBO does but other than her....No-one tells me what I work on in the garage)

My code enforcement guy told me I had to put up no trespassing signs to keep him off my property so I did but that did not stop him? They are such liars and *** oles and my problems have been going on almost a year. They said if I had them covered on my driveway I was good however they just kept citing me ect. Have a date with a special magistrate come October and when they say I am not in compliance I plan on saying PROVE IT and see what gives. Wes

This my friends is the difference between us and them.

Psst... You guys that live on the east coast have those same problems too. See our good buddy @mustang656man . Last I looked Florida was on the east coast. I don't think the hurricanes have blown them over here. Yet. But it's still early in the season.

It has nothing to do with political affiliation and everything to do with others wanting to police how the other people live in the area. This is more of an issue where money is involved not so much politics. It's that Facebook newsfeed method of comprehension where instead of reading about what is being said the info is taken from a sentence that's not really representative of what is really going on.

lol....Ok, since we seem to have gone off on multiple tangents, here is another one.

What is the most powerful law enforcement figure? Sheriffs dept, State Police, FBI, ICE, DEA?

Here in Kentucky, and many others, it is the game wardens. Due to the nature of their work, they are allowed to cross property lines, roam your woods, ponds and fields WITHOUT obtaining a warrant. They don't even need to express a reasonable suspicion, they can wonder up to your hunting spot and request to see your permit. Thank goodness, most of them around here are pretty conscientious, friendly, and hunters themselves and are very courteous to landowners. I put on a Youth Hunt every year so I know and work with several of them and they really are great guys.

I have heard before though, they get occasional "tips" from other departments about possible game violations, and by the way "While you are in those woods, keep your eyes out for a grow field or other suspicious activity". Sometimes sheriffs dept or DEA is willing to accompany them, you know, just in case they need a hand with a poacher.

.
I'll say the IRS. They can seize everything you have including bank/investment accounts without notice and it is up to you to fight to get it back.

Game Wardens are top of the food chain here in TX. No requirement for a search warrant or probable cause to search a vehicle. You driving within 100 miles of a lake or river is cause enough and it's hard to be 50 miles from a body of water here...

As for the meter readers we don't have those anymore they were all replaced by smart meters which end up costing more than employing a meter reader. Mailman... Who gets anything in the mail anymore.
