Kentucky Car Show- Cruisin' The Heartland

Anyone in the area, next weekend is the 10th annual Cruisin' The Heartland in Elizabethtown KY. Really good show, keeps growing every year.

Heading down to Louisville for the NSRA show the following weekend, and then to Nashville area for a couple days. Spectators this year though, not taking my car.

Well, made it to the cruise last night, spent about 3 hours in the heat at the show today. Will post a few pictures later.

It is always interesting talking to people and looking at the cars, gives me ideas of what to do and a LOT of what not to do. Saw one early coupe that the guy must look through the catalogs and order anything with Cobras on it to stick on his car.
Saw a 69 Boss 351 Shelby, yeah, I remained polite.....

As Randy mentioned, we met up and had nice chat. As no one else had Mustangs and a gasser Falcon, it was pretty easy to pick out his setup. You can go to the link he posted to see a LOT of pictures of the cars so I won't post a bunch. Here are a couple that stood out, the first few for all the wrong reasons. The monstrosity of a tribute to KISS just left me shaking my head and my stomach churning.
Then right next to it there were a couple enterprising fellows trying to unload a project coupe. Good luck on their asking price. Feel free to call the number if you are interested. Even the patches had been patched.

My wife has made mention of moving to some type of retirement community some day, puttering around in a little golf car. NOT in my plans but the cart below might be fun.

Cobras are one of the most beautiful cars ever built but just look awkward with a hard top.

Looks like a lot of fun. What exactly is that KISS tribute car anyway? A Tempo?
