    Hello,
    I saw your post on the spring thread and thought I'd hit you with a PM. First off, welcome. I'm pretty new to the forum too, and also live in the DFW area.

    I had a '66 in the early '80s that also had a HUGE shutter / chatter / vibration whenever I'd let off the clutch pedal to enter first gear. It would rattle the fillings out of your mouth. It was a few years ago, but I thought I changed the clutch and had the pressure plate re-faced. If memory serves me, the problem was the springs in the clutch faded, and the pressure plate chattered so much that it was no longer flat.
