Either powder coat them to match the body, or do them black. But like others have said, vinyl wrapping with an air release vinyl will do what you want and give you the option of reversing if you want to change things up in the future. A lot of the vinyls will last 5-10 years these days. And considering most with classic cars aren't going to let them sit out in the elements much if at all, I wouldn't be surprised if it lasted the full decade (depending on what brand you were looking for).
