Got the dream car

Hey guys nice to be able to join another mustang community. I live outside of St. Louis, Missouri and recently acquired a 66 fastback in its original Tahoe turquoise over aqua interior with factory A/C. The car goes well with my 13 coyote and is much more fun to drive.

Engine is a fresh built 302 from an 87 foxbody with a T5 trans from a foxbody too. AFR heads, forged pistons, air gap intake, 750 carb yada yada...

Still has drum breaks all around which are a pain in the *** but will most likely be going with a full roadster shop spec chassis with 6 pistons on all corners in the future as safety is my #1 goal and then add some forced induction later as well.

Welcome to VMF and congratulations on your "new" car.

In my opinion, that is the best model and color in 1966, but then again I may be a little biased.

I'm with John on this one. It would be cool to have a Tahoe Turquoise registry...

Very nice! Killer color combo for sure. Looks like you’ve got a lot of the same mods I do. Cool wheels too!

Can you post a better/bigger pic of your wheels? They look like my US Mags, but the center cap appears larger on yours. Tough to tell at that resolution though.

Edit: also, yours look like they could be 16’s. Can you also verify size?

Correct the wheels are US MAGS and size is 15x7. Very good fit bit will be going with a different wheel when I get the chassis sorted the way I want it to.

Well that’s cool. Center looked larger because there was less wheel around it. I don’t think I knew they came in 15’s.

What are you planning on swapping them out for?

that is some serious coin for the Roadster shop chassis.
IMO it would be a shame to do to major surgery to such a nice looking car. The stock platform of course has limits but can be made to handle and stop very well
