I not sure I know what this refers to. For 65s it seems to be the engine code in the VIN. Is it that for all year Mustangs?

Just thought I'd ask a Mustang question for once. :p

The fifth digit of the Vin is the engine code. When people say "I have a C code," they are referring to a 289 2v, an A code is 289 4v etc.

Here is a detailed chart from Mustangs plus that is pretty handy for all '64.5-'73 cars and their engines.
