My wife and I just got home from a long day. Headed out of Eugene over to Florence then up the coast to Tillamook. We stopped to see the Sea Lion Caves, we stopped at Munson Falls, absolutely beautiful. We went and saw the cheese factory in Tillamook and just had a blast. Saw lots of Mustangs mostly newer though I did see a vintage '69ish red 'Stang. Was that any of you? I saw it right between Lincoln City and Tillamook IIRC. Anyway if any of you Oregon types haven't made that drive it is well worth it.

Never been as far south as Florence on the coast, but it sounds good...

Lincoln City is usually as far south as I want to go in a day trip to the coast. Between Lincoln City and Tillamook it's worth stopping at Neskowin and walking down to the beach...

It's also worth having lunch at the Pelican in Pacific City. That would take you upto Tillamook on the "back road"...

I'll have to keep that in mind. It was definitely fun.
