Rat Pack Reunion LITE

It was just @Huskinhano(Tom) and my self. The Club from New York Mustangs forum seems to have fallen apart so the large 200+Mustang group wasn't there. However we did meet up with @dobrostang(Mark) briefly after our track time so Mark could give Tom some old used leaf springs to beef up his 50+ year old OE leafs.other wise Mark had Dad duty in the morning with his daughter doing as I understand a Documentary of sorts on the original Watkins Glen race course that used some town streets and some rural roads(I've driven it and those early drivers with maybe a leather helmet, possibly no seat belts, tires smaller than a new motorcycle ,lets just say those guys had a set. Hope to see that video/documentary
Tom just installed a new H pipe back exhaust and had some last minute teething pains as the right side mid pipe needed work and the muffler wanted to rub his aluminum Explorer drive shaft. My car wasn't without issue either. Although WGI advertises 3 paced laps at 55 we hit the north side of 90+ a few times. I've had the same Granada brakes on my car since putting them on in the mid 90's they are still in really good shape as far as pad wear(negligible) rotors are clean ect even though they have been to opening weekend a hand full of times and several years worth of autox's I seem to have developed a death wobble of sorts when stopping now Gotta get that sorted out really soon next autox in 20 days
Any way without further ado here is the video I took ,You may notice a couple of "redneck" trucks that I can't understand why WGI lets them on the track except $ and some people passing which isn't allowed.

UGH! The traffic jams on a race track. But thanks for the ride.

I spent 2 hours uploading the video on the slow DSL at home only to be informed it couldn’t be published due to wrong format. Now that I have access to Fios for a couple days hopefully I can get if straightened out.

On the way up to @2nd 66 (Brad’s) house my speedometer said I was doing 65 while the GPS on Waze said I was doing 70. Brad was in front of me on the track. I know looking down at my speedometer at the end of the strait aways, my speedometer was right around 100 mph. So if I was off 5 mph at 70, Brad was pulling on me. I think we both wisely decided not to push out Autozone pads any more! Mine were objecting.

One thing great about getting older. A life in prison sentence is less of a deterrence

Great video! And once again I was unable to go. I live less than 90 minutes away from WGI; it might as well be on the moon these days.

Stuck Caliper, heats the rotor and warps it, when you hit the brakes its scary. Happened to me on my last trip to Watkins. Take the calipers apart and clean out the crap - polish the piston up real nice again. I did my rears at the same time and flushed the system - it was time. Kits are dirt cheap...

? I think ? I got it sorted the rear shoes were pretty out of adjustment making the front work too hard.the wheel spins nice and free normally a stuck caliper makes the wheel hard to spin by hand . Wait and see game now drove a couple times since and seems better
