If this "patch" doesn't remove more than half of the BS advertising this site is loaded down with, then it's just a bandaid that isn't going to fix the real issue.

What's weird is that other forums I belong to seem to have about the same Ad to content ratio. But VMF is always by far the buggiest and slowest to load. I literally gave up on a post yesterday because I was tired of it just spinning. And, that is on an ultra fast commercial connection.

There are other forums with this much advertising? I'm not sure how that could be. My ad blocker shut down 20 ads when I loaded this page.

lol, I work in advertising. So every time you use an ad blocker I am one step away from my next build ........ Kidding bud.

But yeah, mustang6g and the GT350 forum I am on are about the same I think.

Well THERE'S an apples and oranges comparison. Saturdays nights are slow, only just over 500 folks on here. More than the Fix has at once like ever. There's just not that kind of traffic there. A quick check shows 64 people.

That said, I've heard a lot of complaints about being slow in the last couple of years and have never really seen it myself. However the last couple of days have been impressive. Feb 28 being the worst I've personally seen. Click on a thread and go fool around on a different tab for a while waiting for it to load. Like three to four minutes sometimes. Impressively bad. Ookla speed check showed like an 18ms ping and 60mbps download and of course sites like Yahoo mail in other tabs were at normal speed. So pretty sure it wasn't an issue on my end.

You do realize that
A- you missed the point.
B- youíre standing up for a terrible business model.

I could have chosen a dozen other sites that have untold more users that donít have the problems this site does. Instead I chose a similar site that never treats its users like dirt. You may think this place is the best, but I am definitely in the opposite camp. This owner is destroying what Bob built and itís a shame.

No, sorry, I did not read all that in between the lines of a post saying "hey this place is slow and this other place is not."

If we want to make a good comparison of how bogged down it is here, pop over to Garagejournal.com com which on has way over double the membership and bandwidth traffic than the VMF does. Pop over and check it out. It just snaps. Pick a thread, any thread, and will load in a couple of seconds at most. (If you have broadband) Plus there's just a whole lot of neat stuff over there. Not directly Mustang related to speak of, but very interesting. Anyways they are a good example of a site that has a whole lot more going on that what we have here and they are definitely doing something right.

I've never really had slowness issues with this site until the last week or so. It's really bad lately.

It is terrible today. 10 ms ping, 59 mbps down, 53 mbps up speed, 525 users, took 25 seconds to open the forum page. And 45 seconds to post this. Something is amiss.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll forward this to our techs to see if we can learn something from here.
