Thank you all for the responses! To answer some questions. Its a 351, ac, ps, front disc brakes and driver mirror is a remote,

The rear end issue: When it was going to be lifted, by a fork lift the driver hit the car right at the wheel and all the rear end "fell off" so i got it at a reasonable price. It looks much worst then it actually is. ( my english is bad sorry). Thanks for your help guys

Most likely a GT if it has a gas cap but some fakes are out there. The best way to confirm is to get a marti report. As noted it does have the script mustang on it. Around 5400 GT were made if I remember right. Of the GT there were 1127 verts per my marti. Interior could be either deluxe or standard I believe.

Oh forgot to mention that they were making GT in May mid may. Production retool started mid-late july with 1970 cars showing up early aug. So, I wouldn't state the fact that they only made GT in early in the run of 69. This is a common mis-conception of the GT. Mine was built 5/19/1969 and sure mine is not the last of the GTs. The GT did not have too much stuff that was exclusive to GT model besides the Gas cap. So if people ordered them, they got them. Thing was everyone wanted Mach1 so ford decided to phase out GT model year 1970

Sure. It was the "standard" transmission. I once saw a 69 Grandé with a 3-speed. You had to pay extra for anything else. The 64-65 K code came with a 4-speed, and the BOSS came with a 4-speed. Oh, and the 428 CobraJet.

The 3-speed was the base transmission. The "GT" or "PIO" option did not specify a particular transmission. The 4-speed behind a V8 was just short of an extra two hundred bucks..... a lot of money if you're spending $2,750 on the whole car!

Mine had the standard interior. Black, no woodgrain and low back seats. Non fold down rear. Also drums all around, no ps,pb or a/c.

I thought they did but could not remember. Yes and they come with 3 speeds. Mine had a 3 speed with 4v 351W. White Deluxe interior. White buckets with black components. Original poster, get a marti report. Also, remember just because it is rare does not mean it is worth more. People still like the Mach1 more than the GT. I have a vert so there was not a Mach1 vert or it probably would be worth more than my GT vert. But the 69 GTs are pretty rare.

Terms early and late are often confused on model years of cars. Don't know when this started.

When I was a kid in the 50s us guys would ride our bikes the the big state fair building in Indianapolis. We'd look through the high windows in the huge exposition area. In July/August that building was empty and available for new car storage. We'd see new models from late July through mid August.

So if you go by auto production schedule/year a car built in late May is a very late build of that model year.

Ford introduced the Mustang in mid April 64 part of the hoopla was it was an all new 65 model.

My '64 1/2 vert. Ordered May '64. D code 4 speed, handling package, caspian blue, accent group, Ford blue manual top.

'68 vert. driver. Owned since Apr '78. C code AT, AC, PS, P disc B, PT lime gold, standard black interior and top. NOS RF fender and left quarter.New top and folding glass.

Mine also had the 351W 4bbl with 4 speed Toploader, 3.08 28 spline 9" open rear. No Tach, no center console. It did have the 4 slice pie cutout under the hood scoop.

It is noted a few places on the Marti. Under the options as GT Equipment Group but will also be listed in the statistics box.
