64 1/2 mustang 260 or 289?

Hi guys, Im new in this of restoring and also on the forum. I want to know if there is a precise difference between 260 and 289 engines. Im asking because I have a 64 1/2 mustang (I think) with VIN number of 5F07D170418 and a block stamps numbers of C4OE6015F and 4F4. But the carburetor that is in the car is a 2V instead of the 4V thats supposed to be in this mustang base on the VIN number. Maybe some of you that has a lot of knowledge on this can tell me (based on th VIN and stamp numbers) if it is a 289 with only a replacement of the intake and the carburetor (originally 4v and replaced for a 2v) or a 260 engine. Thanks!

C4OE-F decodes as a 289 block. see mustangtek.com Date decodes as June 4 1964. That seems too early for your serial number. Probably an engine replacement.

Everybody has to start some place

Probably a "C" code engine from a Fairlane or Galaxie.
