1967 Door Water Shields

Have some repro black coated (1 side) paper water shields for my '67 with deluxe interior and have some install questions/assumptions:

Shields go on coating side toward the interior?
Shields go on before the door cup angle bracket?
Goop around the window crank and door handle shafts - anywhere else? Photos?
Punched holes for door panel clips don't seem to align very well with holes in door, is this typical?
Is it typical to have to trim any of the outer edges? I don't see a need yet but thought I'd ask.
Any other tips/tricks, things I should know?

Simple job I know but thought I'd ask just in case.

Thanks!

The black side out, so you'll be looking at brown when they are installed.

I think not.

Seal the edge with strip-caulk.

Sadly. You need to finesse the clips before installation.

Not usually, they are die-cut.
Any other tips/tricks, things I should know?
Probably, just keep asking.

Can't the repro manufactures' even get these right? Sheesh!

My disassembly photos show shield behind the angle bracket - doesn't mean that's the way it came from the factory. It does mean I'd have to cut a slit for it.

Shield holes just don't align with holes in doors for the panel clips, to the point where to finesse them would mean punching new holes beyond the shield edges - a good 0.25" to 0.375" out. Hey, maybe I can steam them into submission.

These are definitely hand trimmed unless of course the die has ragged, scissor-like edge contours.

I'll bet a lot of folks don't even bother with these?

Thanks for your reply.

Has anyone gotten a set without the problems described above and if so where?

I bought a set for my car, but after struggling to get the deluxe door panels on, totally forgot to install them. I even have a tube of the proper adhesive from NPD.
