For those of you with 67-69 transmission and have the Transgo 47-2 kit, how you like them.

Might this be a C-4 trans, or something else?

do it, you won't regret it. yes to chirp, and then some. Easy to do, and great results. I wouldn't build a C4 without it.

I have used that one several times and others as well. I like that particular kit because it is "well balanced" as far as how it makes the trans shift. Some have a harsh 2nd and early high shift. while others are softer on 2nd but bang high gear. The 47-2 doesn't do that and is easy on internal parts. Shifts are firm and precise.

Definately this. ^^^^^. I love the 47-2 in my '68. The best 67 - 69 reprogramming kit out there in my opinion. However it wont turn a tired old C4 into a neck snapping 1/4 miler. All other parts in the transmission have to be in good condition, & clutch & geartrain end play have to be up to scratch.

Do it right. ONCE!!

Agreeing with everyone so far. Yes to chirping into 2nd, and even into 3rd at times.

This kit seems to be what the car should have had, if things were perfect 'back in the day'. When you drive easy, it shifts easy. When you romp on it, it bangs gears with authority. I love mine.

Even with three gears, the C4 is a great transmission. This shift kit is a big part of making it that way.

I have thought about swapping in a 67-up valve body into my 66 C4 the next time it's built, IF I DON'T go with a custom AOD. My current C4 was built by an old guy at an AAMCO as a favor who learned on the 65-66 C4 in school back then. I have no idea what kind of kit he put in it, but it's smooth as glass on lite throttle and will pucker your *** when I stand on it. Good bark on the 1-2 and the 2-3 shift, and again if you go 3-1. THAT'S how a trans should behave.
