There are quite a few stories of owners (especially Corvette) that were actually buried with the owner embalmed behind the wheel of the car with Sunglasses on. No lie. True stuff!...Just search the internet!

A mustang with guts and soul

Just saw a news item. Some resto shop in the UK just bought a 1968 390 GT Fastback from over here. It needs work. But along with the purchase was a jar containing the cremated remains of a previous owner in the console. The shop is considering how to make that PO's remains a permanent part of the restoration.

Maybe they could just, you know, mix him in with the paint or something.

Talk about...."Ghost in the Machine".....lol....

What they should do is pour his remains into a vat of undercoating and spray it under and throughout the panels of the car..."Extra Gritty!"....lol ........

It would probably last longer if they mixed him into some bed liner type material then spread it all over the inside of the floor pans. Less likely to get damaged or sanded away later

Personally, I would rather be melded into the floor boards or frame of the car than the paint. But, then again, what do I care? I'm dead. Flush me down a toilet or put me in the ocean, it makes no difference to me.

Remains

There are literally 100's of options for what can be done with ashes. Don't want to get morbid. This is something I have thought a lot about since I became the owner of my Dad's car.

I was going to have one of these glass globes made, that they use ashes to make, and have it drilled on the bottom, and insert a threaded insert for use as a shifter knob.
You can literally have them made in many different combinations of colors. This is just a quick web pic grab.

I know of a fellow who was an avid trap and skeet shooter. Members of his range club loaded his ashes in shotgun shells and blasted them over his old shooting lane.

Read an article a few days ago msn.com. the winner of the story was the guy that bought the car for 7k, noticed it was gone too far to rebuild so flipped it for 23k in the UK. The shop in the UK is going to rebody the car, I'm curious as to see what the final price tag on that thing will be coming out of the resto shop.

Be awhile for that, right now it's past life support. Consider this though; the dead guy's gonna get the world's first entire body transplant. I wonder if Dr. Frankenstein was to hook up his electrodes...Well, anyway, it'll be the first time a successful car sale will also be a dead deal. And something else for sure, whoever buys it will have both of life's certainties. So much for resting in peace. (Maybe they can schedule the sale for Ash Wednesday.)

This is far too easy.
