Trying to found out date and DSO from vin

I have a 65 mustang from San Jose with sequential numbers 181885. I know there is a book that can give you the DSO and date from the sequential numbers but I havenít been able to track it down. So if anyone can help it would be appreciated.

Thank you

Howdy! I donít think you can get a DSO based on the sequential number. Since Ford destroyed all the information for 65/66 years, it would be more than imposible to get that DSO. From the sequential you can guess the build date, very accurate, but DSO is hay from another stack. So unless you have the original warranty door plate, you are lost... sorry that.

As Josep said, you probably won't find the DSO.. but from the data at the registry at www.isomustangs.org, it looks like San Jose unit 181848 had date 03B and 182214 had date 04B, so assuming there was nothing special about yours that caused it to be scheduled substantially differently (and it did occasionally occur), your date was probably in the ballpark of 03B or 04B.
